Are you a Wal-Mart shopper? Here’s something that you’ll be happy about. Welcome to Wal-Mart’s plus size world. Spend less, live better. The maker of Hanes underwear and the Wonder Bra will be increasing their floor space in more than 3,500 Wal-Mart stores to offer more plus size clothing choices late this year. Just My Size women’s clothes line is available now. This includes dress pants, sweaters and other merchandise beyond the underwear and jeans it already stocked.
According to Wal-Mart, “So many of the women who shop at Wal-Mart today fall into the plus size category. The buyer is already there, whether she’s buying groceries, toys, clothes for her kids. So we really wanted to create a plus size destination for apparel for her.” This year, the New York fashion show displayed the spring collection, ranging in sizes from 16 to 28. Price range is $6 to $22.
In spring, 2010 the store will offer suggestions on how to mix and match pieces. I don’t know what Walmart you are shopping at but the one I go to has always had a terrible selection of plus size clothing. And none of the stuff written about it the article has come true. In fact, its worse. The section now at Walmart for plus size is a few racks and then sweatshirts and sweatpants. How is that a selection?
